My husband and I built this homestead by hand and don't have friends or family around to help us care for them when we need to leave to visit family for the Holidays. We travel 3 times per year, twice to make a 17 hour drive to Nebraska to see his family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and once to see my family in June for an annual family traditional fishing vacation in Canada. Finding help that we can trust has been a nightmare, having lost livestock worth $3000 the last two times. We don't have much, and work with little, but we pour our hearts into these animals to make them something we hope to be able to support him leaving his 12hr workdays in the future (I work a full time job from home). Right now, we're hoping to find help for this Thanksgiving, a "quick" trip out to Nebraska to see family. It would just be for four days! We are improving our setup, but would need someone to check in twice per day, or welcome to stay in the house for those 4 days if the commute is long and you're able! We have lots of chickens that would need let out and put away (the reason for two visits) and likely fed and watered just once or twice while we're gone. Rabbits and quail would need food and water once a day. Pups and kitten are sweet and low maintenance! No meds to give or anything extra. If you're interested, please reach out! We also love to barter, and can offer chicks, eggs, hatching eggs, pullets, meat, and woodworking for trade as part of or all of payment if you're open to it and interested :) Our main concern is our animals, so bartering isn't required though!
